Be a part of a collaboration between the Larry Spring Museum and Pacific Textile Arts to create a “yarn bombing” installation reflective of coastal life.

On Saturday, Nov 2nd, and Sat Nov 9th returning Larry Spring Museum's Artist in Residence, Trisha Leigh Lavoie will lead a 90-minute all-ages introductory crochet workshop. Participants will learn the basic crochet stitches and techniques that can be used to create objects inspired by coastal beachcombing.

Materials will be provided. No prior crochet experience required!

TIME: 1 PM - 2:30 PM

TUITION: $15 for each workshop or $25 for two! All funds go to the artist. No one will be turned away.

Works will be installed at Pacific Textile Arts during their 2020 season.

Trisha Leigh Lavoie is an Acadian fiber artist who focuses on using crochet soft sculpture to create installations. Her work plays with non-traditional uses of craft, issues of conspicuous consumption, and environmental concerns. Her work has been shown in Hamilton, Toronto and St Catherines Ontario, Vancouver, British Columbia, and at the Larry Spring Museum of Common Sense Physics in Fort Bragg, California.
