We Are All Energy
Tap into the energy field that connects us all by embarking upon a shared art experience that creates unique patterns in that particular moment and place. Using found objects as templates and the shared energy, participants will create unique glyphs to add to our community art project, Redwood Time.
John Skinner is a local artist who configures discarded objects into sculptural pieces that comment on environmental concerns. His current installation in the window of the Larry Spring Museum uses plastic that he has collected from our local beaches. The resulting works resemble pachinko machines or circuit boards—intricate surfaces where color and form come forward from a muted gray background, which he sees as the ether, the unknown from which all things emerge.
Participants will use objects from John’s plastic collection and inks made from foraged mushrooms and flora to make marks about the legacy of plastics in our environment.
